Make it plain without any seasoning and after they’ve baked and cooled add a layer of melted chocolate and put in the fridge to set – yummy

Alternatively you could add finely chopped dried fruit like cranberries and/or mix in some dates, or sub some of the water with honey or whatever syrup you like

Do your tummy a favor and try to resist the urge! Trust me on that. These would make a great gift.Have made them twice with no changes needed to the recipe. I used a silicone mat but had to flip it upside down to peel the silicone away from the crackers. Too fragile to peel the crackers off.

TRICK – Line pan with parchment, put seed mixture on sheet, cover with a couple pieces of saran wrap and then use your rolling pin ( I unscrew the handle off of mine so it fits) or use a wine bottle and roll it flat and even. Works like a charm.

I added smoked paprika, cayenne pepper and nigella seeds. Replace sunflower seeds with raw peanuts. Only thing is I had to lower the baking temperature to 150C and flip the crackers over so that the “bottom” could dry out too. I tried to make the layer as thin and even as possible but the center still takes a longer time to dry out. Good recipe though!
