Made it for Xmas dinner and baked a few days ahead then reheated. Because of past bad experiences with curdling and under cooked potatoes, I added the potatoes to the sauce and simmered awhile before baking. Not sure if it is necessary, but they came out perfectly wonderful. Thank you!!!! PS i made them with 1/2 and 1/2. Also no garlic and chopped onions small.
