It took 50 min. to bake, and I didn’t ice it. The 1st day, the topping was super crumbly and messy. The icing would have held it together better probably. The cake broke apart on the fork, as well, so I was disappointed overall. However, now it’s the 2nd day after a night on the kitchen counter, and everything has really firmed up to a nice texture, and the flavors have infused.. So I’m very happy with it now. It’s great with a little heavy cream on it or ice cream . Ali, I like how you clearly explain the process, especially how many minutes to beat during each step. This is important and often not clear or specified. Thanks!

I baked in the 9″ spring form pan and it took longer to bake, about 50 minutes. Covered lightly with foil to keep streusel from getting too dark. It turned out perfectly moist.

I would like to make this however I am a novice baker and I was wondering should the eggs and sour cream be room temperature? It doesn’t specify.

The only things I did different from the recipe is use cardamom and cinnamon and omit the pumpkin pie spice. I also added 1/4 cup oatmeal and about a Tablespoon of maple syrup to the topping.
Thank you for this recipe!

It was moist and did keep very well for several days. I didn’t have a 9″ springform pan but an 8.5″ which turned out just fine. Baking time was a bit more but otherwise just perfect. Next time I am going to add more walnuts to my streusel.

Do you think vegan sour cream would be an acceptable non-dairy substitute or would there be a better alternative? Thank you!

I left off the glaze because I was making it at night and wanted to go to bed and it was still so good and plenty sweet! It took longer to bake, but it did bake evenly and wasn’t dry at all!
