The recipe was easy to follow, and hard for me to knead with one arm. I was missing a few ingredients and didn’t use a full packet of yeast, but still am pleased with how it turned out. 🥮

Thank you!

He absolutely loves cinnamon rolls and I bet this will make him extremely happy. I would recommend making this for gatherings of friend and family or as a sweet treat for you and the kids. Its super easy to make although I had to let the cinnamon roll dough rise for longer and in a warm environment. It has taken me longer than expected but it is definitely worth the time! Enjoy!!

(Disclosure-have baked for over 50 years, and have baked with yeast before.) Small changes: Added 2 pinches of the 1/4 cup sugar that was going into the dough to the milk/butter mixture before sprinkling yeast on and checked for the beginning of bubbles before going on to make sure yeast active. Have been disappointed with “dead” yeast before, even with newly open, in-date package. Also used Kerrygold Irish brand salted butter, which has a slightly higher fat content than our USA butters. Did not use mixer. Mixed dough with large wooden spoon, King Arthur Organic all-purpose flour, [came together with recommended 3 cups (no extra)], then kneaded by hand. My 3 year old grandson buttered dough, sprinkled cinnamon mixture, cut strips with pizza cutter and guided by (washed clean) plastic ruler placed directly on top of dough. I wrapped first strip LOOSELY into center roll, placed in pan, and he continued to wrap strips LOOSELY in pan. Baked in large 10 inch cast iron 3 inch high side “chicken fryer” pan 30 minutes. Golden brown outside perfectly fluffy cooked inside. I think loose wrap and larger pan allowed it to expand more for lighter texture. Family loved it! Next time am going to try a 3 inch sided spring form pan for easier serving and cleanup. Will let you know if it works as well as the heat-holding cast iron pan.

Finally got around to making this- turned out great! Followed the instructions exactly, it was very easy with stand mixer. The hard part is not eating the entire thing by yourself. Thank you for delicious, easy to make recipes using good ingredients. We rarely eat out anymore because we can make cheaper and healthier meals from your website!

I have made it twice. I cannot get away with only 3 1/2 cups flour to get the right consistency. Are you sure those are right? Mine is too sticky to do anything with until almost 4 cups. Still good, tho. Next time, I’ll cut down on the milk.
This is my favorite recipe site. Ali never leads me astray.

I’m also hoping someone ca. answer this. Can all or part of this be made in advance? Can the second rise/rest be in the fridge and then baked in the morning?

Just one question, do you think I could make this ahead of time (maybe 24 hours before) and then just bake on the day? If so any tips or things to beware of?

I’m picturing this as one of the desserts for our Christmas lunch this year, but there’ll be too much going on to make it from scratch on the day.

Looks too yummy! Thanks so much for sharing.

I especially wanted to see this video, as you suggested, before attempting to make this delicious looking cinnamon roll, but I cannot. I noticed another person commented about this. Is there anyway you could check your website to see why there are no videos? Thank you, Anita

I want to try this recipe but I’m not functional in the morning. Thanks!!
